The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has announced a new education partnership with TLMI, expanding access to industry-leading flexographic training and certification programs for TLMI members.
The partnership reinforces a shared commitment to strengthening technical education and workforce development across the package printing sector. Through this collaboration, TLMI members will receive exclusive “affiliate pricing” to FTA’s FIRST (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances) certification programs. FIRST is widely recognized as the standard for flexographic education and process control.
FTA’s FIRST certification programs are also built around industry-established specifications and best practices. Additionally, the programs provide companies with a clear roadmap for achieving process control and repeatable results. Organizations implementing FIRST often report measurable improvements in efficiency, reduced waste, enhanced color consistency, and stronger cross-functional alignment.
Designed to deliver structured, role-specific training, FIRST certification equips press operators, prepress professionals, quality managers, and implementation teams with the technical expertise required to drive print consistency, improve operational efficiency, and elevate overall production performance.
“Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to strengthen the future of flexography,” states Nathan Ridnouer, president of FTA. “Our partnership with TLMI reflects a shared strategic vision and ensures companies have access to high-impact training that improves print quality, operational performance, and long-term industry sustainability. Together, we are investing in the people who power our industry.”
As market demands evolve and technologies advance, workforce readiness remains a top priority for the industry. By aligning with TLMI, FTA is also extending the reach of its proven educational framework. The goal is to support label and package printing professionals seeking to enhance technical competency and competitive advantage. This partnership underscores a mutual dedication to advancing industry standards, supporting professional development, and building a more resilient, knowledgeable workforce.
